Ed Brubaker to sign at Confounded Books grand opening
Seattle, Washington store to host alternative creators January 31, 1998

Gainesville, FL, January 15, 1998: The gala January 31 grand opening of Confounded Books in Seattle, Washington will be celebrated by alternative cartoonists Ed Brubaker, Jim Woodring, Jeremy Eaton, Pete Bagge, Jason Lutes, Ariel Bordeaux, Jim Blanchard, David Lasky, Roberta Gregory, Pat Moriarity, Michael Dougan, and Rich Tommaso. Located at 3506 Fremont Avenue North, right smack in the center of Fremont, Confounded Books combines a huge selection of comic books and graphic novels with a tremendously eclectic selection of books on topics including art, gay/lesbian, photography, film, conspiracy, women's issues, civil rights, smut, 40s-50s pinups, and more. Confounded Books will celebrate their grand opening with a comics signing party from 6:00 to 8:00pm on January 31, admission is free.

"It is always exciting to see a new comic book store opening," said Alternative Press, Inc., publisher Jeff Mason, "and Confounded Books' owner Ilse Thompson has such a great mix of inventory in her store that I expect that she will draw in people that I'd classify as 'non-traditional' comic book readers to her store. Ilse is a long-time associate of alternative publisher Fantagraphics, so I am sure she'll do a fantastic job in getting her customers excited about the comics she is selling."

For more information, contact Ilse Thompson by phone: 206-545-0744 or by E-Mail: ilse@fantagraphics.com.
