Bill Kartalopoulos, now 29, is the sole proprietor of the "Egon" comics news and information website, located at http://www.egonlabs.com. He currently occupies a monkish cell in Manhattan. He has no plans for the future.

Charles Hatfield, Assistant Professor of English at California State University, Northridge, specializes in comics, word/image studies and children's literature. He has published widely in comics theory and criticism, and his book, Alternative Comics: An Emerging Literature, will be published by the University Press of Mississippi in 2005. Charles serves as Chair of the annual International Comic Arts Festival and is now editing, with Gene Kannenberg, Jr., and Joseph Witek, an essay collection on underground comix.

Christian Hill's passion for comic art dates to his youth in France. After years as a computer graphic artist, he is back creating his own comics. He also promotes comic art appreciation through workshops, scholarly writing, and the National Association of Comic Art Educators. He is completing his Master's in Illustration at California State University, Fullerton, where he teaches part-time.

Martha Kuhlman received her PhD in Comparative Literature from NYU in 2001. She has published articles on authors who negotiate multiple national identities (or who reject national identity altogether): Dubravka Ugresic, Agota Kristof and Milan Kundera. Currently she is working on a paper about Art Spiegelman's series In the Shadow of No Towers. She teaches Central European Literature and Critical Theory in the Department of English and Cultural Studies at Bryant College.

Gilles Laborderie currently lives in Paris where he works as an IT consultant. Prior to moving to the City of Lights, he lived for three years in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he met his soon to be wife. He keeps a blog on comics, and in his spare time he enjoys drawing.

art spiegelman was co-founder/editor of Raw, the acclaimed magazine of avant-garde comics and graphics. Honors he has received for his book Maus include a speical Pulitzer Prize and a Guggenheim fellowship. For ten years he served as a contributing editor and frequent cover artist for The New Yorker. With his wife, Françoise Mouly, he co-edits Little Lit, a series of comics anthologies for children. In the Shadow of No Towers, his recent series of internationally-published full-page comic strips, will be collected by Pantheon Books later this year. He lives in New York City with Mouly and their children, Nadja and Dashiell.

Tom Hart was born in Kingston, NY. He won a 1994 Xeric grant for his book, "Hutch Owen's Working Hard", featuring his charming but surly antagonistic street "bum". A book of Hutch Owen stories to date was published by Top Shelf Productions in 2001. Tom is the editor of serializer.net and is a founding member of Oubapo-america. He teaches cartooning in New York City where he lives with his wife and fellow cartoonist, Leela Corman.
