Josh Neufeld and Dean Haspiel's KEYHOLE vol 2, no. 1

Keyhole vol. II, #1
By Dean Haspiel & Josh Neufeld. 32 pages, $3.50, with color cover by Dean Haspiel and Josh Neufeld. Interior stories & art by Haspiel and Neufeld.

Neufeld and Haspiel are back at it, in a new issue of Keyhole — where autobiographical stories of international travel are cleverly mixed with stark tales of introspection and social commentary.

In "Tribal Rituals, Part I: On a Mission," Josh & Sari find themselves out in the cold in a remote corner of Thailand — until they are taken in by fundamentalist Baptist missionaries! Dino confronts the horror of one hundred dead cats and a psychotic neighbor in "Awful George," and finds that the post-9/11 world isn't all that different in "Doored." All this and much more in the exciting re-launch of the critically acclaimed eclectic anthology. Isn't it time you took a peek through the Keyhole?

Friends for over 20 years, Dean and Josh co-created Keyhole, which has run for six issues with two different publishers. Now it lives again, with Alternative Comics!

Dean Haspiel is the author of semi-autobiographical comix and super-psychedelic romances. He is nominated for an Eisner 2002 award for "Talent Deserving of Wider Recognition." Dean's comix appears regularly in The Billy Dogma Experience, heart-charming stories about the last romantic anti-hero, and the 48-page, semi-auto-bio collection Opposable Thumbs, episodic tales of a born & bred New Yorker living in the big bad city. Both series serve as the backdrop for informed, existential expression in his socio-metaphysical comix.

Josh Neufeld has been drawing comics since he was four years old. He is the co-creator and illustrator of Titans of Finance, also published by Alternative. Josh has contributed artwork to Harvey Pekar's American Splendor (Dark Horse), the EXPO anthologies, 9-11: Emergency Relief, The Big Book of Urban Legends (DC/Paradox Press), and Duplex Planet Illustrated (Fantagraphics), among others. He resides in Brooklyn and makes a living mixing freelance illustration with web design.
