Microsoft taps Alternative cartoonist for software
Jon Lewis adds his own unique style to Microsoft Plus! for kids
Gainesville, FL, May 16, 1997 — Jon Lewis, creator of the Spectacles comic book series published by Alternative Press, Inc. has offered his unique vision to help Microsoft design Microsoft Plus! for Kids, a program designed to allow children and families to create personalized desktops and enjoy creativity applications, all while learning to use the Windows 95 operating system. Cartoonist Jon Lewis was enlisted by Microsoft to design integral artwork, icons, and clip art to enhance kids' enjoyment of the new software. Prior to Spectacles, Jon Lewis earned a reputation for his inspired take on the world around him and for his realistic presentation of the fabricated worlds and characters he crafted in his True Swamp and Ghost Ship comic book series.
