Spectacles News Jon Lewis Announces Additional New Projects for Summer Gainesville, FL, May 30, 1997 Jon Lewis, creator of the Spectacles comic book series published by Alternative Press, Inc. has announced two new projects for the Summer. In addition to writing and drawing Spectacles for Alternative Press, Lewis offers new stories for Dark Horse Presents and for Coober Skeber, an underground benefit comic. August marks the release of the third issue of Spectacles, Lewis' wildly successful continuing series. In issue #3, Lewis pays tribute to Jack Kirby with an underwater adventure in "Deeper Than Your Strangest Dreams". Also in that issue, Lewis presents the third chapter of the peculiar, hilarious, complex, and highly addictive serial "The Frost Changes" in which a strange horse roams the countryside attempting to coax beautiful women onto his back. Finally, issue #3 contains Lewis' new continuing serial that marks his return to animal related stories similar to those that made his earlier True Swamp series such a hit. Also in August, Dark Horse Presents #124 features Lewis' "Outside, Inside" in which two socially inept twins discover life on two opposite planes the microscopic world of germs and the vastness of outer space. Both lead to trouble. Details of Lewis' work for Coober Skeber are currently hush hush, but it will be unveiled at Comic-Con International in San Diego (July 17-20). Jon Lewis' Spectacles is a quarterly 32-page comic book series, available at a retail price of $2.95.
