The
field of supposedly adult, independent, alternative comics is being littered
with belligerent grotesquerie and agonized confessionals; we thought we'd
mention a couple of the least painful. Sam Henderson's Magic Whistle
(Alternative Comics, $2.95), a cute exercise in bite-size vulgarities,
uses a thick, amorphous, naive drawing style to scratch out the antics
of wacky neurotics.
